Xbox Live Arcade Prices Going Up, Diablo 3 DRM

Xbox Live Arcade game prices have gone up...Have you noticed? Who is to blame?
EA Sports has announced their "Season Ticket" where you can pay an annual fee to play a game three days before street date.
Blizzard has jumped into the always-on DRM fray with Diablo 3 forcing an internet connection for singpleplayer games.
Then we take calls about Diablo 3, who owns digitial distribution content, and the Humble Indie Bundle 3.

Sony has announced that they will ban consoles from PSN if they are jailbroken, and have sued the man who brought the code out. He's taking donations for his legal fund, and is trying to get the suit dismissed. This also leads to a very interesting email, which sounds like a veiled threat. Then we take calls about the PS3 and Magicka.

The first item we talk about probably won't help you listening on the podcast, but you could have gotten Midnight Club 2 on PC for free by joining the official Rockstar Group on Steam. But, you can join the VOG Network group on Steam even after May 15th! Minecraft 360 has broken sales records on Xbox Live Arcade, but announcing that has shown there might have been some preferential treatment. We also talk a little bit about the game (impressions from the demo) and how it is different from the PC version. If you want to buy games on Steam, but don't want to use your credit or debit card, you now have an alternative...And neither side is too happy about it. The Xbox 360 is rumored to get Internet Explorer 9 with Kinect support. Information about the real money auction house in Diablo 3 has been released...And we talk about how much money Blizzard will take in from each successful sale. We don't take many calls because we were recording on Mother's Day, but one person called in just to call, so we talked about The Pirate Bay telling Anonymous to stop censoring other people.

Back from Dragon*con, we talk about Richard Garriott's talk about the future of games and his life as one of the first private citizens to go into outer space. We also give impressions of Gears of War 3 Beast Mode, playable to all Dragon*con attendees. We pay our respects to the man that made what I do possible - Bill "The Game Doctor" Kunkel, who recently passed away. Sony has hired a former Homeland Security chief to make sure that another crippling hack does not happen again. Atari is suing a website that has Atari in the name...Why do they hate their fans? Then we take calls about Richard Garriott's comments, Bill Kunkel, and lines at gaming conventions. This podcast is up late due to some technical difficulties that have since been resolved. Episode #309 will be put on the feed Thursday, and Episode #310 will be put on the feed over the weekend. There is no live show on October 9th due to Bobby's commitment with the Atlanta Falcons Drumline.
